Executive Search Consultant in Quantitative Finance

and Expert UK Education Consultant

Douglas Tang

Director - Tang Elite Consultancy

Global Head of Quantitative Finance - Odin Partners

Since 2019, Douglas has been supplementing his efforts within music with work within the city, after he stepped back from coaching and teaching due to his frustration with different failing aspects within the English music scene.

He started collaborating with his father in their education consultancy which specialises in helping individuals from abroad in finding good schools and property and in resettling them into the UK. In March 2021, he joined a technology recruitment company focussing on software development within Germany, and specialised as a Python Consultant. He achieved major success in signing on some of Europe's biggest clients, with his biggest client  - the Reply Group - bringing on 4.83 million Euros worth of business.

Several months later, he joined a start-up Executive Search firm as a Quantitative Finance Associate; generating within the first year over a million pounds worth of offers. He now works in partnership with some of the most prestigious hedge funds and trading firms worldwide in performing searches within the space of algorithmic trading - within the United States, Europe, and Asia.

Work with Douglas has been a true honor. Initially, I was looking for new opportunities as a research analyst in the Crypto space after being laid off by Three Arrows Capital and was feeling a bit frustrated. Doug is a Quant hunter by trade, but he still assisted me in finding opportunities that fit my needs and preparing thoroughly for each interview.

Quite quickly, Doug began sending me high-quality leads. What really stood out to me about Doug was his attention to detail. Doug set aside time to check in with me every week, encouraged me to keep going, and gave me advice and encouragement before each interview.

With Doug's assistance, I was able to pinpoint my best attributes and put them in my resume. In addition, he gave me the resources I needed to begin my career in quantitative analysis.

Doug was there for me every week during the interview process to give me feedback and reassurance, even though it lasted for several weeks. His availability despite his busy schedule made the interview process more convenient.

To sum up, I am grateful for the opportunity to have met Doug, a wonderful human being. Finding someone like him is incredibly challenging, so I hope to have the opportunity to work with him again in the near future.
